Imagination Part 2

At the age of forty, the age at which the average man or woman begins to think they are too old to start anything anything new.

What a mighty power is imagination, the workshop of the soul, which thoughts are woven into railroads and skyscrapers and mills and factories and all manner of material wealth.

Love brings love and hate brings hate.

If  you imagination is the mirror of your soul, then you have a perfect right to stand before that mirror and see yourself as you wish to be. You have the right to see, reflected in that magic mirror, the mansion you intend to own, the factory you intend to manage. Your imagination belongs to you. Use it! The more you use it the more efficiently it will serve you.

Imagination does the impossible
You will often find yourself in situation where you face a problem that offers no obvious solution.

Imagination helps you look at a situation in a novel way and make connection that you've not seen before. These exercises may not present you with million dollar solutions, but they do have the power to stimulate your mind to consider new approaches.

Call a council of advisers : There is a man who imagined himself at a table surrounded by great figures whom he wanted to emulate. The purpose for this imaginary group of leaders is to ask each of them how they would tackle a particular problem.
Seek random Inspiration : Select a book of inspiring words. Open it anywhere and read the first sentence your eyes fall upon.
Turn the world upside down : Make a list of the four or five major components of your problem. Underneath each, write down what the opposite situation would be.
Go away: sometimes focusing your imagination on a problem can be a trap. You need a way to break free of the mental boundaries you have created. The key is to reduce pressure on yourself and allow your mind a freedom that you have not been giving it.

Here lie great piles of loose bricks, lumber, nails, and glass, In its present form it is useless for it is a nuisance and an eyesore. But mix it with the architects imagination and add more skilled labor and it becomes a beautiful mansion.

I know I am here. I know i had nothing to do with my coming, and I shall have but little, if anything, to do with my going. Therefore I will not worry because worries are of no avail.

The greatest and most profitable thing you can do with your imagination is to rearrange old ideas into new combinations.

If you properly use yours imagination, it will help you to convert your failures and mistakes into assets of priceless value. It will lead you to discovery of a truth known only to those who use their imagination: that the greatest reverses and misfortunes of life often open the door to golden opportunities.

You will never know what your capacity is for achievement until you learn how to mix your efforts with imagination.

The products of your hands, minus imagination will yield you but a small return. But those self same hands, when properly guided by Imagination, can be made to earn you all the material wealth you can use.

There are two ways in which you can profit by Imagination. You can develop this faculty in your own mind, or you can ally yourself with those who have already developed it.

Maximizing Your Profits with Scoring

SETTING YOUR MAXIMUM INTRADAY TRADING LOSS First things first: set a max intraday trading loss. There will be days when you just do not have it. Why do you think coaches pull their players when they are not playing well? They are more harmful on the field than off. When you are underperforming, you are hurting your team and your trading business. You need a system to yank yourself over to the bench. A stop loss is your answer. TRADING BASED UPON THE TIME OF DAY A good trader makes note of what time of day it is, when he trades most profitably, and adjusts his trading to fit such times. Your numbers at the end of the month will not reflect your true trading potential. Make the most trades with the most size during the trading periods that statistically are most profitable for you. Money saved during your weaker trading periods is money earned. Consistency The fact is that most trades you make will start working for you right away. But the new traders also hold stocks that are trading ag...

THE 4TH LAW Make It Satisfying

The Cardinal Rule of Behavior Change Everyone said handwashing was important, but few people made a habit out of it. The problem wasn’t knowledge. The problem was consistency. We are more likely to repeat a behavior when the experience is satisfying. This is entirely logical. Feelings of pleasure—even minor ones like washing your hands with soap that smells nice and lathers well—are signals that tell the brain: “This feels good. Do this again, next time.” Pleasure teaches your brain that a behavior is worth remembering and repeating.  Conversely, if an experience is not satisfying, we have little reason to repeat it. In my research, I came across the story of a woman who had a narcissistic relative who drove her nuts. In an attempt to spend less time with this egomaniac, she acted as dull and as boring as possible whenever he was around. Within a few encounters, he started avoiding her because he found her so uninteresting. Stories like these are evidence of the Cardinal Rule...

THE CONTEXT IS THE CUE

The cues that trigger a habit can start out very specific, but over time your habits become associated not with a single trigger but with the entire context surrounding the behavior. We mentally assign our habits to the locations in which they occur: the home, the office, the gym. Each location develops a connection to certain habits and routines. You establish a particular relationship with the objects on your desk, the items on your kitchen counter, the things in your bedroom. Our behavior is not defined by the objects in the environment but by our relationship to them. In fact, this is a useful way to think about the influence of the environment on your behavior. Stop thinking about your environment as filled with objects. Start thinking about it as filled with relationships. Think in terms of how you interact with the spaces around you. For one person, her couch is the place where she reads for an hour each night. For someone else, the couch is where he watches television and ...
