Wisdom For Today

Every answer to every problem you have ever faced is in print (books). All the mistakes you will ever make in your life have already been made by those that have walked before you. Do you really think that the challenges you are facing are unique to you? All the problems anyone has ever, and will ever face over the course of their lifetime have already been made. More importantly, the answers and solutions are all recorded on the pages of books. Read the right books. Learn how those who have preceded you have handled the challenges you are currently facing. Apply their strategies for success and you will be astonished by the improvements you will note in your life. It's not what you will get out of the books that is so enriching  it is what the books will get out of you that will ultimately change your life. Books do not actually teach you anything new. Books simply help you to see what is already within your self. That's what enlightenment is all about. Personal Refl...

Wisdom for today

As you care for the body so you care for the mind. As you prepare your body, so you prepare your mind. As you train your body, so you train your mind. Take some time every single day to nourish the temple of your body through vigorous exercise. Get your blood circulating and your body moving.  Did you know that there are 168 hours in a week? At least five of those hours should be invested in some form of physical activity. What does breathing fresh air have to do with anything? To breathe properly is to live properly. The fastest way to double or even triple the amount of energy was to learn the art of effective breathing. While most of us know how to breathe to survive, we have never learned how to breathe to thrive. Most of us breathe far too shallowly and in so doing, we fail to take in enough oxygen to run the body at an optimal level. Take in more oxygen through efficient breathing and you liberate your energy reserves along with your natural state of vitality. S...

Wisdom For today

Fear is a conditioned response: a life-sucking habit that can easily consume your energy, creativity and spirit if you are not careful. When fear rears its ugly head, beat it down quickly. The best way to do that is to do the thing you fear. Understand the anatomy of fear. It is your own creation. Like any other creation, it is just as easy to tear it down as it is to erect it. Methodically search for and then destroy every fear that has secretly slid into the fortress of your mind. This alone will give you enormous confidence, happiness and peace of mind. What sets highly actualized people apart from those who never live inspired lives is that they do those things that less developed people don't like doing even though they might not like doing them either. Truly enlightened people, those who experience deep happiness daily, are prepared to put off short-term pleasure for the sake of long-term fulfillment. So they tackle their weaknesses and fears head on, even if dipping into...

The Ancient Art of Self-Leadership

Good people strengthen themselves ceaselessly. -Confucius "Success on the outside begins with success on the inside. If you really want to improve your outer world, whether this means your health, your relationships or your finances, you must first improve your inner world. The most effective way to do this is through the practice of continuous self improvement. Self-mastery is the DNA of life mastery." Change is the most powerful force in our society today. Most people fear it, the wise embrace it. Zen tradition speaks of a beginner's mind: those who keep their minds open to new concepts — those whose cups are always empty — will always move to higher levels of achievement and fulfillment. Never be reluctant to ask even the most basic of questions. Questions are the most effective method of eliciting knowledge. When I speak of improving your inner world, I am simply speaking of self-improvement and personal expansion and it is the best thing you can do for yoursel...

Kindling your inner fire part 2

The final step for attaining goals and advancing along the path of purpose? "Enjoy the process. A day without laughter or a day without love was a day without life." Make sure that you have fun while you are advancing along the path of your goals and purpose. Never forget the importance of living with unbridled exhilaration. Never neglect to see the exquisite beauty in all living things. Stay focused on your lifework and on giving selfless service to others. The Universe will take care of everything else. This is one of nature's truest laws. "And never regret what has happened in the past. There is no chaos in this Universe. There is a purpose for everything that has ever happened to you, and everything that will happen to you.Every experience offers lessons. So stop majoring in minor things. Enjoy your life" Passion is a word you must constantly keep at the forefront of your mind as you follow your mission and attain your goals. A burning sense of passi...

Kindling your inner fire

Trust yourself. Create the kind of life you will be happy to live with all your life. Make the most of yourself by fanning the tiny, inner sparks of possibility into the flames of achievement. -Foster C. McClellan He who serves the most, reaps the most, emotionally, physically, mentally and spiritually. This is the way to inner peace and outer fulfillment. People who study others are wise but those who study themselves are enlightened. The purpose of life is a life of purpose. Those who are truly enlightened know what they want out of life, emotionally, materially, physically and spiritually. Clearly defined priorities and goals for every aspect of your life will serve a role similar to that played by a lighthouse, offering you guidance and refuge when the seas become rough. Anyone can revolutionize their lives once they revolutionize the direction in which they are moving. But if you don't even know where you are going, how will you ever know when you get there? One wou...

Wisdom For Today

Everything is always created twice, first in the mind and then in reality.  the mind works through pictures. Pictures affect your self-image and your self-image affects the way you feel, act and achieve. If your self image tells you that you are too young to be a successful lawyer or too old to change your habits for the better, you never will achieve these goals. If your self-image tells you that lives rich with purpose, excellent health and happiness are only for people from backgrounds other than your own, this prophecy will ultimately become your reality. "But when you run inspiring, imaginative pictures through the movie screen of your mind, wonderful things start to happen in your life. Einstein said that 'imagination is more important than knowledge.' You must spend some time every day, even if it is just a few minutes, in the practice of creative envisioning. See yourself as you want to be, whether this means serving as a great judge, a great father or a great ...

Wisdom For Today

Worry causes your precious mental energy and potential to leak, just like air leaking out of an inner tube. Soon, you have no energy left. All of your creativity, optimism and motivation has been drained, leaving you exhausted.  Once you find your purpose, however, life becomes much easier and far more rewarding. When you figure out what your main aim or destiny really is, you will never have to work another day in your life. Most people live within the confines of their comfort zone. The best thing you can do for yourself is regularly move beyond it. This is the way to lasting personal mastery and to realize the true potential of your human endowments. Stop being so practical. Start doing the things you have always wanted to do.  Discover your real reason for being here and then have the courage to act on it. Daily incremental improvements produce lasting results which, in turn, lead to positive change. Even ten minutes of focused reflection a day will have a profoun...

Wisdom for today!

Start thinking about your dreams for a change, just like when you were a little child. Jonas Salk said it best when he wrote: 'I have had dreams and I have had nightmares. I overcame the nightmares because of my dreams.' When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all of your thoughts break their bonds: your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction and you find yourself in a new, great and wonderful world. Dormant forces, faculties and talents become alive and you discover yourself to be a greater person than you ever dreamed yourself to be. Success on the outside indeed begins with success on the inside, and by changing his thoughts. The mind is a wonderful servant but a terrible master. If you have become a negative thinker, this is because you have not cared for your mind and taken the time to train it to focus on the good. Winston Churchill said that 'the price of greatness is, responsibility over ...

Wisdom for Today

Most people live whether physically, intellectually or morally in a very restricted circle of their potential being. We all have reservoirs of life to draw upon of which we do not dream. -William James In the fable, the garden is a symbol for the mind, If you care for your mind, if you nurture it and if you cultivate it just like a fertile, rich garden, it will blossom far beyond your expectations. But if you let the weeds take root, lasting peace of mind and deep inner harmony will always elude you. Worry drains the mind of much of its power and, sooner or later, it injures the soul. To live life to the fullest, you must stand guard at the gate of your garden and let only the very best information enter. You truly cannot afford the luxury of a negative thought not even one. Do different things than those whose lives are ordinary. Foremost among the things that they do is adopt a positive paradigm about their world and all that is in it.  on an average day the average per...

Wisdom For Today

Great dreamers' dreams are never fulfilled, they are always transcended -Alfred Lord Whitehead We don't notice the beauty in ordinary things, we should start noticing the beauty in the most ordinary things. Whether it was the marvel of a starry night or the enchantment of a spider's web after it rained. Success on the outside means nothing unless you also have success within. self-mastery and the consistent care of one's mind, body and soul are essential to finding one's highest self and living the life of one's dreams. How can you care for others if you cannot even care for yourself? How can you do good if you don't even feel good? I can't love you if I cannot love myself. "When the student is ready, the teacher appears" I am an artist at living  my work of art is my life. -Suzuki They only focus on the outer person. We needed to be healed from within. Just like this overflowing cup, you seem to be full of your own ideas. And h...

Wisdom For Today

From the book of "The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari By Robin S. Sharma" Obsession with work can be a real problem. Too much secret can bring us down. On your death bed you will never wish you spent more time at the office. Hyper competitive world had taken toll on us, not only physically and emotionally but spiritually. Albert Camus once said that 'Real generosity toward the future consists in giving all to what is present.' Stop spending so much time chasing the big pleasures of life, Began to enjoy the little ones. Julian Mantle and Yogi Krishnan These guys gave up their material possessions and retreated to a world of greater simplicity. Becoming a caretaker of the village temple, Krishnan said that he had come to know himself and his purpose in the larger scheme of life. Everything Happens for a reason "Every event has a purpose and every setback its lesson. Failure is essential top personal expansion. Never regret your past rather, embrace it...

Finale Law of success By Napoleon Hill

These four important associated principles are: 1. Cosmic Habit force: The principle through which Nature forces everyone to take on and become a part of the environmental influences that control their thinking.   2. Drifting: The habit of mental indifference, through which an individual allows chance and circumstance to fasten their environmental influences on them. 3. Time: The factor with which Cosmic Habit-force weaves together an individual's dominating thoughts and the influences of their environment, and transforms them into stumbling blocks or steppingstones according to their nature.   4. Definiteness of Purpose: The only medium, under the control of an individual, with which Cosmic Habit-force may be controlled.  LIVES OF GREAT MEN ALL REMIND US WE CAN MAKE OUR LIVES SUBLIME, AND, DEPARTING, LEAVE BEHIND US FOOTPRINTS IN THE SANDS OF TIME.  -Henry Wadsworth Longfellow  Millions of people go through life without knowing what i...

THE EGO, THE MASTER MIND, AND COSMIC HABIT FORCE

Habits are inseparably related to the human ego, which is a greatly misunderstood subject. The word ego is of Latin origin and it means I, but it is a common error to believe the ego to be only a medium for expression of vanity. The ego is the driving force behind all forms of human action, and it is the medium for translating desire into faith. Therefore we must know something of its nature and possibilities in order that we may guide it to the attainment of definite ends. The power of the ego is fixed entirely by the application of autosuggestion, or self-suggestion, and the starting point of all individual achievements is to inspire one's ego with a "success consciousness." The person who succeeds must do so by impressing on their ego the object of their desires, and removing from it all forms of limitation, fear, and doubt which lead to the dissipation of the power of the ego. A person's ego is the sum total of their thought habits that have been affixed throu...

The Universal Law of Cosmic Habit-force

HABIT IS A CABLE; WE WEAVE A THREAD OF IT EVERY DAY, AND AT LAST WE CANNOT BREAK IT.  -Horace Mann Cosmic Habit-force is the greatest of all natural laws. It is Nature's comptroller through which all other natural laws are coordinated, organized, and operated through orderliness and system. It is the particular application of energy with which Nature maintains the relationship between the atoms of matter, the stars and the planets in their ceaseless motion, the seasons of the year, night and day, sickness and health, life and death.  We see the stars and the planets move with such precision that the astronomers can predetermine their exact location and their relationship to one another scores of years hence. We see the seasons of the year come and go with clock like regularity. We know that an oak tree grows from an acorn, and a pine tree grows from the seed of its ancestor; that an acorn never makes a mistake and produces a pine tree, nor does a pine seed produce a...

MY CODE OF ETHICS

THERE IS ONLY ONE CORNER OF THE UNIVERSE YOU CAN BE CERTAIN OF IMPROVING ... AND THAT'S YOUR OWN SELF.  -Aldous Huxley   I could have struck back at my antagonist through both civil court action and criminal libel proceedings, or I could have exercised my right to forgive him. One course of action would have brought me a substantial sum of money and whatever joy and satisfaction there may be in defeating and punishing an enemy. The other course of action would have brought me the self-respect that is enjoyed by those who have successfully met the test and discovered that they have evolved to the point where they can repeat the Lord's Prayer and mean it! I chose the latter course. I did so despite the recommendations of close personal friends to strike back and despite the offer of a prominent lawyer to do my "striking" for me without cost. But the lawyer had offered to do the impossible, because no one can strike back at another without cost. Not always is...

THE GOLDEN RULE APPLIED TO CAPITAL AND LABOR Part 2

If we desire to have our neighbor love us as he loves himself, we must love him as we love our self. You are a capitalist. Your money is invested in manufactures, in land, in mines, in merchandise, railways, and ships, or you loan it to others on interest. You employ, directly or indirectly, men to use your capitaL You cannot come to a just conclusion concerning your rights and duties and privileges by looking wholly at your own gains. The glitter of the silver and gold will exercise so potent a spell over your mind that it will blind you to everything else. You can see no interest but your own. The laborer is not known or regarded as a man who has any interests you are bound to regard. You see him only as your slave, your tool, your means of adding to your wealth. In this light he is a friend so far as he serves you, an enemy so far as he does not. But change your point of view. Put yourself in his place; put him in your place. How would you like to have him treat you if you were in...

THE GOLDEN RULE APPLIED TO CAPITAL AND LABOR

I BELIEVE IN THE DIGNITY OF LABOR, WHETHER WITH HEAD OR HAND; THAT THE WORLD OWES NO MAN A LIVING BUT THAT IT OWES EVERY MAN AN OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE A LIVING.  -John D. Rockefeller There is great need of wisdom to guide the new force coming into action. Every man is under the most solemn obligation to do his part in forming a correct public opinion and giving wise direction to popular will. The solution for the problems of labor, of want, of abundance, of suffering and sorrow can only be found by regarding them from a moral and spiritual point of view. They must be seen and examined in a light that is not of themselves. The true relations of labor and capital can never be discovered by human selfishness. They must be viewed from a higher purpose than wages or the accumulation of wealth. They must be regarded from their bearing upon the purposes for which man was created. Capital and labor are essential to each other. Their interests are so bound together that they c...

The Golden Rule

THERE IS A DESTINY THAT MAKES US BROTHERS: NONE GOES HIS WAY ALONE; ALL THAT WE SEND INTO THE LIVES OF OTHERS COMES BACK ONTO OUR OWN.  -Edwin Markham The Golden Rule essentially means to do unto others as you would wish them to do unto you if your positions were reversed. There is an eternal law through the operation of which we reap what we sow. When you select the rule of conduct by which you guide yourself in your transactions with others, you will very likely be fair and just if you know that by your selection you are setting into motion a power that will run its course in the lives of others, returning finally to help or to hinder you, according to its nature.  IT IS WELL TO THINK WELL; IT IS DIVINE TO ACT WELL.  -Horace Mann   The law does not stop by merely flinging back upon you your acts of injustice and unkindness toward others; it goes further than this-much further-and returns to you the results of every thought that you release. ...
